Taxes Ruined My Marriage - The Satirical Musical! is a story of an elderly couple attempting to pay for their hospital bills during the cost of living crisis. This story is explored through the mediums of musical theater songs, visual novel dialogue, and short retro RPG-styled pixel art exploration and combat segments.
Taxes Ruined My Marriage! was created over 10 days for the 2024 Gamedev.tv Game Jam. Unfortunately, we didn't quite meet our goals for both the amount and quality of our content, and the path quickly ended up running FAR away from our initial vision, alongside the theme of the jam, but we did the best we could in the time we had, and we hope you enjoy the little we came up with!
